Dr. Eddie Howell is in his second season as the music director and conductor for the Lapeer County Concert Choir. He is musically active throughout the surrounding area. He is an adjunct instructor for Mott Community College, teaching courses in Music Appreciation and Fundamentals of Music Theory, and substitute conuctor for the Concert Band. He is the music director/worship coordinator for the traditional service at First Baptist Church, Davison. Yhis summer, he did contract work with the Flint Symphony Orchestra in preparation for their annual Fourth of July Conceret at Kettering Stadium. Dr. Howell is scheduled to begin teaching on the campu of Kettering University starting January 2018.
Dr. Howell and his wife, Jackie, made the move to Michigan from Kentucky during 2016 to be close to their two grandchildren, Reagan, age 7, and Charlie, age 3. During Dr. Howell's career in Kentucky, he was a music educator, K-12; college educator; de-nomination music consultant (choral and instrumental music) for the Kentucky Baptist Convention; guest conductor (instrumental and choral music); church musician, U.S. Army musician (trumpet) with the 113th Army Band, professional free-lance musician, and small business owner. During his free time, he is an avid runner participating in half-marathons and marathons. He and Jackie are currently building a log home in Oregon Township, fulfilling one of their lifelong dreams.
Our Accompanist, Nancy Tazzia is happy to be returning to the position of piano/keyboard accompanist with the LCCC this season.
She holds a B.A. in International Business and Foreign Language from Hillsdale College. She has been accompanying various school choirs since high school, and has accompanied church choirs for both Living Word Lutheran Church in Rochester, MI, as well as the Dryden United Methodist Church in Dryden, Mi for many years. After 15 years of teaching piano lessons, she retired in the summer of 2017 and is now studying the harp. Nancy is married with four sons, living in Dryden.
